The discovery of pulsars - a graduate student's story
Jocelyn Bell Burnell is an astrophysicist from Northern Ireland, who co-discovered the first radio-pulsars in 1967. She was the president of the Royal astronomical society from 2002 to 2004, and the president of the Institute of Physics from 2008 to 2010. In 2018 she was awarded the Special Breakthrough prize in Fundamental Physics.
